The West Metro Senior Softball Association has announced 2025 Summer Session 1 Rosters and schedules with play starting outdoors Tuesday, April 29. Under our ongoing partnership with Eden Prairie Parks and Recreation, National division will play its games this summer in a new format at Riley Park Lake just north of Pioneer Trail on Riley Park Boulevard, and the Northwoods division will play its games at Round Lake Park at Eden Prairie Road and Valley View Rd.
Board Member and National Division Coordinator John Hovde unveiled further details for National Division game days that “will promote fun and competitive softball games played by evenly matched, full teams.”
“We know of the challenges of playing with shorthanded teams in recent years,” Hovde said. “We have addressed that issue by a new schedule with three full and balanced teams playing two games Tuesdays and Thursdays, using the model implemented by the Northwoods Division in Domeball the last two years.”
Three games will be played at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. with a round robin schedule that will be published on the website. Each team will play two games each day.
The teams playing Game 1 will arrive at 9 a.m. for setup, warmup and batting practice. The team starting its first game at 10:30 a.m. is encouraged to arrive early for warmup and BP at the field adjacent to the Game 1 field. Teams not playing can take BP, enjoy watching the game being played or help with lunch when scheduled. We plan to organize more lunches this year with a signup sheet at the fields.
Session 1 concludes Thursday June 19

NOTE: Games end promptly after one hour, the score reverting to the total at the end of the previous inning.
